{"id":19418,"date":"2025-11-20T23:13:04","date_gmt":"2025-11-20T17:13:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bayannotv.com\/?p=19418"},"modified":"2025-11-20T23:13:04","modified_gmt":"2025-11-20T17:13:04","slug":"asian-curry-awards-2025-in-london","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bayannotv.com\/?p=19418","title":{"rendered":"Asian Curry Awards 2025 in London"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The winners of this year\u2019s Asian Curry Awards \u2013 dubbed the \u201cCurry Oscars\u201d were<br \/>\nannounced at a glittering gala dinner and presentation, organised by the Asian<br \/>\nCatering Federation and attended by 1200 VIP guests on Sunday 16 November.<br \/>\nHeld at the Grosvenor House in London\u2019s Mayfair, the evening was hosted by BBC<br \/>\nnews anchor Samantha Simmonds with honourable guest speakers including<br \/>\nCouncillor Paul Dimoldenberg Lord Mayor of Westminster, Bobby Dean Liberal<br \/>\nDemocrat MP for Carshalton and Wallington, Councillor Eddie Hanson Mayor<br \/>\nof Camden, Councillor Ryan Hack Mayor of Brent, Councillor Amy Croft Mayor<br \/>\nof Hounslow, Councillor Adrian Garden Mayor of Lambeth, Councillor Anjana<br \/>\nPatel Mayor of Harrow, Councillor Ahmed Mahbub Mayor of Haringey, and<br \/>\nFoysol Choudhury Independent MSP for Lothian, Scotland.<br \/>\nCo-host Anisa Khan, owner of Bombay Pizza and finalist in this year\u2019s BBC flagship<br \/>\nprogramme The Apprentice was also invited to help present this year\u2019s awards.<br \/>\nL\/R Councillor Paul Dimoldenberg Lord Mayor of Westminster, iNaga \u2013 Winners of Asian Restaurant<br \/>\nof the Year for Greater London, Yawar Khan, Samantha Simmonds<br \/>\nThe winners were chosen from all over the UK by the Asian Catering Federation\u2019s<br \/>\nesteemed panel of judges from a list of finalists voted for by the spice loving public.<br \/>\nThe 46 awards covered fine dining, casual dining, street food, take away and many<br \/>\nmore, and covered all Asian and Oriental cuisines. Top national accolades went to<br \/>\nBenares in Mayfair which was crowned London\u2019s Fine Dining Restaurant of the<br \/>\nYear, Chakh Dhoom in Newcastle which was awarded Top Street Food Restaurant<br \/>\nof the year, Misio Asia in Chichester which won Japanese Restaurant of the Year,<br \/>\nand Kasa &amp; Kin in London which won best Filipino Restaurant 2025.<br \/>\nL\/R, Jing Griffin Secretary General, Asian Catering Federation, Host Anisa Khan, Sabbir Karim<br \/>\nfounder of Namaaste in Highgate and winner for his outstanding contribution to charity and<br \/>\ncommunity service, Host Samantha Simmonds<br \/>\nThe individual chefs recognised for their outstanding skills in Asian and Oriental<br \/>\ncooking were Chef Saroj Thapaliya from Panas in Blackheath; Chef Irfaan Habib<br \/>\nSiddiq, and Chef Sahil Ahmed. Plus, special recognition for outstanding social<br \/>\nresponsibility in hospitality was awarded to Mohammad Sultan from Glasgow, and<br \/>\nto Sabbir Karim founder of Namaaste in Highgate for his outstanding contribution to<br \/>\ncharity and community service.<br \/>\nRegionally, the awards for best Asian Restaurant of the Year were scooped by some<br \/>\nof the nation\u2019s favourites including Light of Bengal (Aberdeen) who was also winner<br \/>\nin 2024, Black Peppers (Wrexham), Rajbari (Bristol) Paprika Club (Lemington<br \/>\nSpa), and India Gate in Chichester.<br \/>\nBest newcomer voted for was Denley\u2019s Essence of India in Cranbrook, and Event<br \/>\nCaterer of the Year was scooped by Spice Village in London.<br \/>\nSpeaking at the awards The Lord Mayor of Westminster, Cllr Paul Dimoldenberg<br \/>\nsaid: &#8220;Like many people I love a good curry, so it is a privilege to join some of the<br \/>\nmost talented chefs from up and down the country and celebrate their craft.\u201d<br \/>\n&#8220;Congratulations to all this year\u2019s winners, everyone here should be so proud of the<br \/>\nhard work and tireless effort they put into Asian cooking and hospitality.\u201d<br \/>\nChairman of the Asian Catering Federation Mr Yawar Khan added: \u201cIt is with<br \/>\nimmense pride that we present these awards each year. The success of every<br \/>\nbusiness here tonight is down to the passion, determination and culinary talent that<br \/>\ndrives this industry forward despite the many challenges currently faced by the<br \/>\nhospitality sector, in particular the new immigration rules in the UK, and the fees<br \/>\ncharged by online platforms.
